Keep Your Vehicle Wrap Looking It’s Best
Your new vehicle wrap is a major investment and a great way to turn heads wherever you go. Proper care ensures your wrap stays vibrant, clean, and protected for years to come. Follow these simple tips to maintain the quality and longevity of your wrap.
1. Washing Your Wrapped Vehicle
Hand Washing (Recommended)
- Use a mild automotive detergent (pH neutral).
- Wash with a soft sponge or microfiber cloth.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Dry with a silicone squeegee or microfiber towel to prevent water spots.
Automatic Car Washes
- Touchless car washes are generally safe but can still damage a wrap if the carwash uses strong cleaning agents.
- Avoid brushes or high-friction rollers, as they can scratch or lift the edges of your wrap.
Pressure Washing
- Use only if necessary and with care:
- Keep the nozzle at least 30″ inches away.
- Use a 40° spray angle or wider.
- Do not exceed 2,000 PSI or 180°F (80°C).
- Spray at a 90° angle—never directly at seams or edges.
2. Spot Cleaning
For stubborn spots such as bird droppings, tree sap, or bug debris:
- Clean as soon as possible to prevent staining.
- Use isopropyl alcohol (diluted 2:1 with water) or a wrap-safe cleaner.
- Avoid abrasive pads or strong solvents like acetone or paint thinner.
3. Storage and Protection
- Whenever possible, park indoors or in shaded areas.
- If outdoor parking is unavoidable, try using a quality car cover to shield against sun exposure.
- Extended sun exposure may cause fading or cracking over time, especially with textured or chrome finishes.
4. Waxing
- Use a wrap-safe or vinyl-approved protectant only.
- Avoid waxes containing petroleum distillates or abrasives.
- For matte wraps: Do not wax it can create an unwanted shine.
- For gloss and satin wraps: Use a mild spray wax between washes or periodic touch ups.
5. Wrap Longevity
With proper care, high-quality wraps can last 5–7 years. Environmental factors, mileage, and maintenance frequency will affect lifespan. Regular cleaning and protection will keep your wrap looking fresh and professional.
